His Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, today received members of the Presidential Visitation Panel to Ahmadu Bello University.
The Emir, who described the visit to his palace in Zaria by members of the Panel as "much appreciated", expressed the belief that the Panel would do justice to the work assigned them.
"We are really honoured by your coming here today. As you already know, ABU is one of the premier universities in Nigeria. So your presence here is much appreciated", Alhaji Bamalli said.
The Emir, who lamented that the situation in public universities was not as better as in the past, stressed the need for increase in funding such institutions for optimal results.
The royal father, however, expressed the hope that Ahmadu Bello University would stand to benefit immensely from the outcome of the exercise.
The Chairman of the Presidential Visitation Panel, Prof Oladapo Abraham Afolabi CFR, thanked the Emir for granting their request to receive him and other members of the Panel.
Prof Afolabi, who is a former Head of Service of the Federation, told the Emir that they were assigned by the Visitor to the University, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari, to appraise the way ABU had conducted itself in the last 10 years.
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Kabir Bala and his management staff were in company of members of the visitation panel to the palace.
